Many automotive taking a bold step to announce that electric vehicle (EVs) is going to improve in 2025
Both MP Shyam of Akshaya Motors and Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Car India, expect the year to shape up for the EV market as the year unfold the hidden prospects. Such market dynamics give Shyam grounds to suggest that up to 19 new electric vehicles can be expected in 2025, which will mean further innovative development in this segment.
The leading passenger car manufacturers including Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW are presumed to take center-stage in the passenger car segment through hopes of its highly speculated EV models.
However, in the two-wheeler EV segment, there are a host of manufacturers such as Honda, Ather, and Bajaj that will bring out fresh models exclusively targeting the emerging consumers across the country.
Hormazd Sorabjee feels that constant launches are a step in the right direction to increase the market of EVs although the biggest issue which the EV sector faces is that of charging stations. Quick charging networks have failed to expand and become more reliable; he said that it is still a big barrier to many consumers to consider purchasing the car.
However, he asserted that type of challenge is likely minimize over time as more diverse models of EVs come onto the market. “Customers are going to have fantastic choices, and that could get rid of some worries about charging facilities,” said Sorabjee. He alsoforecasted a much higher growth in the sales of EVs by 2025 which he expect to reach between 2.5 to 3 times the current market size. As more manufacturers strive to produce more EVs, and governments continue to implement more plans to support electrification, 2025 could become that year for the automotive industry. Customers will be able to expect enhanced technological innovation in vehicles, better pricing models, as well as diverse choices throughout the spectrum of automobiles which includes luxury electric sedans to low-cost electric scooters for two-wheelers.
